Privacy Policy

TL;DR: FitAssist stores all your data locally in your browser using localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server. Your health data never leaves your device. We do not track, sell, or share any personal information.

1. Data Storage

FitAssist is a client-side web application. All data — including your profile, health metrics, meal logs, workout records, and assessment results — is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage.

This means:

No data is transmitted to any server operated by FitAssist
No database stores your information remotely
Clearing your browser data will permanently delete all your FitAssist data
Data does not sync across devices or browsers

2. API Keys

If you use the AI features (AI Coach, AI Diet Plan, AI Exercise Schedule), you provide your own Claude API key from Anthropic. This key is stored only in sessionStorage — it is cleared when you close your browser tab and is never transmitted to FitAssist servers.

Your API key is sent directly from your browser to Anthropic's API (api.anthropic.com). FitAssist never sees or logs your API key.

3. What We Do Not Collect

No personal health data (weight, height, BMI, medical conditions)
No usage analytics or behavioral tracking
No cookies for tracking purposes
No third-party advertising trackers
No email addresses (unless you voluntarily contact us)
No IP address logging

4. Third-Party Services

FitAssist uses the following third-party services solely for display purposes:

Google Fonts — for typography (Poppins, Nunito). Google may log requests.
Tabler Icons CDN — for icons. The CDN provider may log requests.
Anthropic API — only when you use AI features with your own API key.

These services have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them independently.

5. Deleting Your Data

To permanently delete all your FitAssist data:

Go to Dashboard → Settings → Danger Zone → Clear All My Data
Or clear your browser's localStorage manually via Developer Tools
Or simply clear your browser's site data for the FitAssist domain

6. Health Disclaimer

FitAssist is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. All calculators, AI-generated plans, and health reports are for informational purposes only. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional — doctor, dietitian, or nutritionist — before making any health decisions.
